Overview
The Sales Team Leader is responsible for the performance of a group of Sales Managers. The STL will work closely within an assigned territory/sector. Developing effective strategies in identifying and pursuing new customer acquisition opportunities, often industry specific, the STL must be confident to implement, conduct and rollout strategies to result in achieving sales targets.
The STL is independently responsible for these expectations as well as supporting Sales Managers to develop creativity and autonomy in developing their own strategies.
STLs are responsible for generating their own new business through cold calling as well as supporting their team to do the same. Additionally, the Sales Team Leader must ensure they personally research in excess of 50 new prospects every day and ensure their team achieves the same. The STLs are also responsible for managing their own sales pipeline, utilizing the company CRM, keeping their own data clean and ensuring their team does the same.
The STL must ensure all KPI targets determined by the Group Sales Director and CEO are achieved and that the Event(s) they manage achieve sales targets. With guidance from the Group Sales Director all Sponsorships, Packages, Features and other agreements must be sold at a profitable cost.
Responsible for ensuring their team lead the way in terms of industry knowledge and insights, the Sales Team leader will ensure this translates effectively into revenue. The Sales Team Leader will manage their teams performance on a daily basis, responsible for weekly reviews, progression plans, conduct and capability management.
The Sales Team Leader will ensure their team is motivated to make more money, focused on overcoming adversity and succeeding at all times.
